A major reason many institutions and cores adopt the iLab system is to streamline financial approval and grant validation. Each institution or core can define the appropriate approval sequence for service requests. Approval can include financial administrators and lab managers. In addition, iLab can be integrated with institutional financial systems, to ensure grant validity and/or available funds. iLab offers the option to customize request routing based on customer preference (e.g., some P.I.s may review all orders from lab members personally while others do not) or based on properties of the service or material requested (e.g., orders above $500 follow a different approval path).
